Artemis Racing, Oracle and SoftBank Team Japan all training on the Great Sound

Saturday 20 February 2016 – Three AC45X (experimental) boats training in Bermuda. Oracle sold their first test boat, launched a year ago, to SoftBank Team Japan at the end of 2015. Oracle is sailing their second and third test boats. The rules do not allow them to build any more, but they can modify their existing boats as much as they want. Artemis also launched their first test boat a year ago and they now have a second boat. Bermudians and visitors will have plenty of entertainment in 2016 with five AC45X catamarans to watch. America’s Cup World Series Oman – Details

New in the America’s Cup World Series Oman:

Practice racing Friday 26 February will include match racing. Match racing is practice only, not for points.
Three races per day for points are scheduled each day, Saturday and Sunday, 27-28 February.

How to watch: Get up early / Stay up late

Racing begins 14:00 Oman time (05:00 Eastern US, 23:00 Auckland)

AC Village in Dockyard

Bermuda’s project for approximately eight acres of infill in the South Basin at Dockyard is progressing as this January photo showed.

The area in the center of this diagram is the AC Village that will be built on the infill in the South Basin. The colored spaces labelled 1, 2 and 14 are the bases for Artemis Racing, Emirates Team New Zealand and the Youth America’s Cup teams respectively. The race course finish line shown here is about 300 meters from the AC Village. You can see a bigger image and download the full diagram here.
