America’s Cup Event Authority announced at a Town Hall meeting in Bermuda in September that there will be six events in 2016:
- February: Middle Eastern venue TBA (rumored to be Abu Dhabi or Oman)
- May: New York City TBC
- June 10-12: Chicago
- July 22-24: Portsmouth
- August: Gothenburg TBC
- October: Tokio TBC
TBA = to be announced. TBC = to be confirmed
Important: only the events in Chicago and Portsmouth are confirmed. It is not clear why ACEA would announce dates for the other events, which are not yet confirmed. According to the Protocol, the February event was required to be confirmed by September 30. Events in the last three quarters of 2016 is to be announced by December 1, 2015.
