Artemis Racing represents the Royal Swedish Yacht Club (Kungliga Svenska Segel Sällskapet, KSSS) as challenger for the 35th America’s Cup. This is the team’s second challenge.

The AC62 catamaran was dropped in favor of a new “America’s Cup Class” foiling wing sail catamaran. Smaller than the AC62, the new class promises to deliver exciting racing at a much lower cost.

Artemis Racing became the first America’s Cup challenger to sail an AC45x experimental yacht in Bermuda. Their initial conclusions: great sailing conditions and a very tight race course that will provide a severe test of sailing skill.
Luna Rossa became the second Challenger of Record to withdraw from the 35th America’s Cup. Three major deadlines loom for ACEA.
The America’s Cup challengers voted 3-2 to change the Protocol and race in “America’s Cup Class” 48 foot catamarans instead of the AC62 class that had been announced 10 months earlier. Luna Rossa and Emirates Team New Zealand voted against the change.
America’s Cup negotiations: After America’s Cup Event Authority announced moving away from the AC62 to a smaller catamaran, Luna Rossa threatened to pull out of the event and Team New Zealand declared their support for Luna Rossa’s position.
Artemis Racing launched their AC45 “Turbo” to test design concepts for the AC62 they will build for the America’s Cup. Foiling consistently in the shifty Bermuda conditions will be a key to winning the America’s Cup in 2017.
Artemis Racing and Oracle Team USA both launched new development boats in San Francsico in mid-February. These highly modified AC45 catamarans will be test beds for the teams’ AC62 designs which will race in the America’s Cup in Bermuda in 2017.

Loïck Peyron won the Route du Rhum transatlantic single handed race in “Banque Populaire VII,” a 103 foot long trimaran. Loïck’s time of 7 days and 15 hours shaved two hours off the previous record. Loïck is a designer for Artemis Racing’s 2017 America’s Cup challenge.
Olympic gold medalist Paul Goodison has joined Artemis Racing. Winner of the Laser event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Goodison has also won world championships in the Laser (2009), Melges 32 (2012) and Melges 20 (2014).
America’s Cup challengers Chris Draper of Luna Rossa and Nathan Outteridge of Artemis Racing talk about foiling, AC62 catamarans and the 2014 Moth World Championship – won by Nathan.
Artemis Racing’s America’s Cup helmsman Nathan Outteridge won his second Moth World Championship at Hayling Island, UK. Luna Rossa’s Chris Draper took 13th in his first Moth Worlds.
Loïck Peyron has re-signed with Artemis Racing for the 35th America’s Cup. He will play multiple roles: member of the design team, backup helmsman and technical sailing coach.
Danish sailor Christian Kamp has joined Artemis Racing as a trimmer for the 2017 America’s Cup.
