Big budgets for test yachts?

Leading up to the 2013 America’s Cup, all the teams found ways around the Surrogate Yacht restriction. Artemis used a 70 foot long trimaran and a modified AC45. OTUSA modified AC45’s. ETNZ and Luna Rossa used 33 foot long catamarans. The loophole for 2017 is in the definition of “Surrogate Yacht.” It leaves the door open for big spending on test yachts. Read more.
